Many districts of northwest and western part of Rajasthan have been witnessing above normal temperatures. Temperatures of places like Churu, Bikaner and Jaisalmer have reached 40 degrees. Maximum temperatures of many other districts such as Barmer, Jodhpur and adjoining areas are between 38 and 39 degrees.
Similarly, many parts of Gujarat such as Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Bhuj, Naliya, new Kandla, Kandla Aerodrome and Vallabh Vidyanagar are witnessing maximum temperature in the range of 38 and 39 degrees. Temperatures of all these districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat are above normal by 4 to 5 degrees. Reason for this sudden spike in temperatures can be attributed to prolonged dry spell and clear skies.
Temperatures of western and northwestern parts of Rajasthan will remain above normal for at least next three to four days. Sky will remain clear with bright sunshine. There are chances of good rain activity is over eastern part of Rajasthan during next 4 to 5 days. These rains will have very less impact over the Western parts of the state. However, many parts of Gujarat to witness light to moderate rain activities which may drop the temperatures.
