Heat wave like conditions grip Odisha

Heat wave like conditions in OdishaIt’s just February and Odisha has already started getting the taste of scorching summers. The state is reeling under heat wave like conditions for the last few days, with day temperatures settling way above normal.

On Thursday, capital city Bhubaneswar almost touched 40-degree mark when it recorded day maximum at 39.2°C.

Moreover, no relief is likely for at least next one week and weather will continue to be extremely hot over the state.

While interior parts will have to face scorching heat, it will be more difficult for the people in the coastal areas who along with high day temperatures will also have to battle high humidity.

According to Skymet Weather, present weather conditions can be mainly attributed to the presence of the anti-cyclonic circulation over Odisha along with very light winds.

Besides this, the state has been completely dry this month with rain deficiency of more than 80%.

Skymet predicts some rain by fag end of the month that would bring some temporary relief for state.
