Heat wave in Vidarbha likely, dust storm and thundershower in Madhya Pradesh to bring relief

Since the last 48 hours, mainly dry weather with clear sky conditions have been prevailing over parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Due to clear sky, dry winds and direct insulation is resulting in heat wave like conditions over some places in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

On Saturday, Khargone recorded 43.6˚C, followed by Wardha 43.4˚C, Amravati 43.2˚C, Chandrapur and Nagpur 43.0˚C, Parbhani 42.9˚C and Akola 42.6˚C.

At present, an upper air trough is extending across extreme northern parts of Madhya Pradesh, which is also behaving as an induced trough. Due to this system, short spell of dust storm and thundershowers with effect some places over the northern districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Weather Alert: Spell of dust storm and thundershowers with strong winds (50-70 kmph) will occur over Ashoknagar, Bhind, Bhopal, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Katni, Morena, Narsimhapur, Panna, Raisen, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sehore, Shahdol, Shajapur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Ujjain, Umaria and Vidisha during the next 12-18 hours.

In the wake of these weather activities, all these places of Madhya Pradesh will observe slight relief from the ongoing heat wave like conditions.

Meanwhile, in the absence of any weather system, Vidarbha region will continue to witness high maximum temperatures with heat wave conditions.

Thereafter, weather activities will be improving, and day temperatures will once again start increasing in Madhya Pradesh.

From April 10, temperatures will start increasing significantly and heatwave conditions will make a comeback.
