This Pre-Monsoon season the state of Maharashtra has not seen good rainfall. Even though Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada have observed on and off isolated rains at time. But still currently all the parts of Maharashtra are witnessing rainfall deficiency.

Talking about the capital city Mumbai has also been observing dry and very warm weather conditions. In fact, the city has not received any rain until now.

With Nagpur recording the highest maximum of the season at a whopping 44.1 degrees on Tuesday, most parts of Maharashtra have been experiencing high maximum temperatures. Moreover, Vidarbha region has been reeling under heat wave conditions since the last many days.

Yesterday, Brahmapuri recorded its maximum temperature at 44.1˚C, followed by Chandrapur 43.8˚C, Nagpur 43.6˚C, Akola 43.0˚C, Wardha 43.0˚C, Parbhani 42.9˚C, Amravati 42.6˚C and Sholapur 42.2˚C.

Now from today, we expect isolated rain and thundershower activities to commence over parts of South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada region in Maharashtra. These weather activities are expected to continue till April 14. But due to patchy rains, no change will be seen in the day temperatures over these areas.

Moreover, heat wave conditions will persist over few parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra with maximum temperatures exceeding 40˚C.

Along with this, the anti-cyclone over North Arabian Sea is expected to move close to the coast. Therefore, winds which are northwesterly in nature will change their direction due to the proximity of anti-cyclone. Thus, cities of Mumbai, Thane, Dahanu, Malegaon will observe rise in their maximum temperatures, resulting in sultry and very uneasy weather conditions.
