Western disturbance has cleared the hilly areas of North India. The support cyclonic circulation over plains also has weakened. Unseasonal rains over Gujarat, Maharashtra, South Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have vacated most parts. The cloud sheet is shrinking and thinning as well and is limited now to small parts of southwest Uttar Pradesh and the northern region of Madhya Pradesh.
Fresh Western Disturbance will be more visible on 14th March. The auxiliary weather system as cyclonic circulation will parallelly extend reach, subsequently covering many parts of East Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. Later, the spread of weather activity will surround Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha and Maharashtra.
In the interim period, between 09th and 13th March, mercury will rise over these parts, all inclusive from west to east. Northwest India will witness a rise of 3-5 degree over the next 4 days. Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra had earlier experienced spell of untimely rains. Clear sky conditions will amount to a rise of about 4-5 degree over interiors of Gujarat, raising the bar to high 30's at most places. Isolated locations may even touch 40 degree on one odd occasion. Similar activity will travel across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra where heat had softened due to unseasonal fleeting showers. These parts may find mercury shooting by 4-6 degree in the next 3-4 days.
West Coast is likely to pick up heat and the temperatures are likely to remain in mid 30's at many places. There could be heat wave like conditions over South Coastal Gujarat, Konkan and Goa. The day temperature is expected to reach or exceed threshold of 37 degree for prevalence of heat wave conditions at coastal stations. Financial capital Mumbai is likely to swelter with hot and sultry conditions. The temperature may touch edging mark of 37 degree, staying 5-6 degree above the normal.
