Heat pocket expands further, rains may not provide major relief

The southern parts of the country have been observing hot weather conditions with Andhra Pradesh being the hottest pocket. However, now, the hottest pocket has expanded to parts of Maharashtra and adjoining areas. Yesterday, many cities were in the 40 degree list including Chandrapur 40.2 degrees, Dharampuri 40.2 degrees, Wardha 40 degrees, Akola 40.4 degrees, Sholapur 40 degrees, Gulbarga 40.7, Kurnool 41.7 degrees, and Cuddapah 39.7 degrees.

Hot pocket has expanded, however, even then the maximums are close to the normal levels as during this time, the maximum temperatures are around these levels only.

There is some rain activity likely over southern parts of Rayalaseema, Telangana, Maharashtra but it will not be sufficient enough to give major relief. This activity is late in the afternoon evening as temperatures. Spread of activity will not last for more than a day or so. Temperatures will not shoot further.
