Although winters have already approached most parts of India including the northern region, the exact winter like chills has still time to arrive.
The temperatures are seamlessly dropping and some sort of mild winter chills can be felt during early morning and late night hours. As per Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is likely to approach over northern Himalayas within next 24 hours. This Western Disturbance is more likely to affect the states ofJammu & KashmirandHimachal Pradesh.
However, the wind pattern will be disturbed over the plains of the northwest India. Dry cool north westerlies are likely to be replaced by comparatively warm and moist south easterlies or southerlies.
As a result, smoke haze layer is also likely to increase over northwest plains includingDelhiafter 48 hours for consecutive 3-4 days. Scattered shallow fogs or mists can also be foreseen at many parts especially during morning.
No significant change in maximum temperatures are expected however, maximums may witness mild change. Chances of rise in pollution levels in the National Capital along with the adjoining areas is also possible. The northern parts ofPunjaband adjoining belt may find partly cloudy sky from November 21 onwards.
