State of Telangana may receive moderate showers for the next 3 days, spread over most parts of the sub division. Southern and central parts of the state, including the capital city Hyderabad, have witnessed decent showers in the past 24hr. Hyderabad, Hanamkonda and Nalgonda recorded 36mm, 34mm and 24mm rainfall respectively. Light showers were experienced over other parts as well.
Telangana is one of the rainiest state of Southern Peninsula this season. It is heading for ‘hat trick’ of excess rainfall and may set new record of highest seasonal rainfall over the last one decade. Presently, the state is in excess of 44% rainfall between 01stJune and 26th September. It may surpass the earlier figure of 46%, observed in 2020.
A Cyclonic circulation is marked over West and Central Bay of Bengal. Turning of winds is extending the confluence zone deep inside the coast, extending up to Telangana. Feature is likely to persist for the next 3 days. Moderate rain and thundershowers are likely over many parts of the state till 30thSep. Isolated places may observe heavy rains for short duration.
