Gujarat witnesses hot weather, relief in sight

Gujarat has been witnessing hot and uneasy days along with warm and uncomfortable nights. So much so that many parts of the state have observed day temperatures significantly above the normal levels. In fact, in a few areas, the mercury is settling 5 to 7 degrees above normal.

The reason for these weather conditions can be attributed to dry northwesterly winds which were blowing over the area. Due to this, maximum temperatures have soared up by 3 to 5 degrees over some parts including Saurashtra and Kutch region.

In a span of 24 hours, the temperatures are hovering above the 30-degree mark in many areas of the state. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 34°C, Amreli 36.5°C, Bhuj 38°C, Porbandar 37.5°C and Surat 37°C.

According to Skymet Weather, the wind pattern is expected to change. Now cool and moist westerly-southwesterly will make way towards the region.

Due to this, the maximum temperatures are likely to register significant drop over Kutch region of Gujarat as well as the coastal areas.

Hence, we can say that some ease in weather conditions can be expected, eliminating warm and sultry weather and paving way for comfortable days. However, this relief will not stay for long, as temperatures are expected to rise again.
