Gujarat has been enjoying the Monsoon rains to the fullest for the last few days. Even during last 24 hours most parts of the state received fairly widespread light to moderate showers.

Amreli has recorded 44 mm of rainfall during last 24 hours. Vadodara also received 13.8 mm, Bhavnagar 46 mm, Surat 21 mm and Veraval 36.2 mm.

All thanks to the cyclonic circulation prevailing over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas of Gujarat region and North Madhya Maharashtra

This system will gradually weaken, reducing rains over the state. During next 24 hours, only extreme southern parts of the state will receive some rainfall.

Rainfall activity will reduce significantly by September 20, as the cyclonic circulation will become insignificant. Mainly dry weather conditions will be witnessed over the state. Moreover, the withdrawal line of Southwest Monsoon will reach close to the Kutch region very soon.

This spell of rainfall will be much beneficial to the state which has been witnessing deficient Monsoon rains. As of now, the Gujarat region is rainfall deficient to the tune of 27% while the Saurashtra and Kutch region received 18% less rains than normal.
