Gujarat has been witnessing contrasting weather for past few days. The day temperatures in the state are settling below normal, while night temperatures are recording above average.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the weather over the western state is largely governed by weather conditions prevailing in North India. And at present, North India is experiencing unusually wet and cold spell.

Therefore, despite the fact that there is no weather over Gujarat for last seven days, the maximum and minimum temperatures are very contrasting. Moreover, north-westerlies blowing from the northern plains to Gujarat are holding the maximum temperatures from rising and pushing minimums above normal.

Let us have a look at the day and night temperatures on Tuesday:

Please note: Temperatures in °C

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, maximum temperatures in Gujarat are expected to rise while the minimums are likely to drop as there is a three-day dry spell in North India, commencing today. In March, Gujarat was one of the hottest pockets of the country, with maximums touching 40°C at many places.
