Gujarat witnesses a steady dip in temperature

Weather-in-Gujarat

In Gujarat, October is typically considered as the second summer, as by the end of September, temperatures once again start rising. Though maximum temperatures remain on higher side, minimum temperatures observe significant drop in September as well as in October.

However, both maximum and minimum temperatures start falling in the month of November. At present, below normal minimum temperatures are recorded over many parts of Gujarat, particularly over Saurashtra and Kutch region.

Night temperatures are 3-7 degrees below normal, while maximums are marginally below average by 1-2 degrees.

The reason for this drop in temperatures can be attributed to the northerly-northeasterly cool winds coming from Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan to Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat.

Due to this flow of winds, the present weather condition is expected to continue for next 24-48 hours. For the time, minimum temperatures will remain below average.

Thereafter, due to change in the wind direction, temperatures may rise slightly, however this rise in temperatures will not be of much significance. Hence, we can expect nights to be cool over the entire region, but days will be warm and sunny. Maximum temperatures will settle in the range of mid 30s to lower 30s.
