Gujarat Turns Pleasant, Warm Days and Nippy Nights Ahead

November 2, 2021 7:01 PM |

State of Gujarat has varied weather conditions on account of long coastline (Saurashtra & Kutch and South Gujarat ) and deep interiors of central and north Gujarat. Following withdrawal of southwest monsoon, the entire state turns in to a fair weather pocket with hardly any weather system visiting the region. Mostly, it remains free from rain, thunderstorm, fog and inclement weather conditions which otherwise trouble plains of north India and contiguous state of Rajasthan.

Month of November brings flavor of mild chill in the night and early morning and the days remain slightly hot. The hinterland of Gujarat covering Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Baroda, Deesa, Patan, Mehsana, Rajkot, Amreli, Junagarh and Bhuj continue to records hot days with maximum temperature in the range of 35-36°C.

Coastal stations like Okha, Porbandar, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Surat and Valsad remain warm and humid with mercury level remaining between 31-32°C.  Even the minimum temperatures over the coastal stations hover around 20-21°C. Interior stations of Saurashtra & Kutch and north Gujarat experience slightly nippy conditions during the night and early morning with lowest temperatures ranging between 16-17°C.

Pleasant weather conditions across the state are likely from 2nd fortnight of November and remain good till January.  On few days, the temperatures can dip to single digit, particularly over north  and  central Gujarat and interiors of Saurashtra & Kutch during Dec-Jan. Prominent locations for chilly nights are Rajkot, Naliya, Deesa, Idar, Palanpur and Gandhinagar.
