With Monsoon bidding adieu, Gujarat has been experiencing dry and sunny weather for the past few days. Monsoon 2018 ended on deficit note for Gujarat at 28%. If we talk region-wise, Gujarat remained deficient by 24%, whereas Saurashtra and Kutch was largely deficit by 34%.
The month of October is termed as second summer season for Gujarat. Going by this, day temperatures have already started soaring high and have been touching 40 degrees mark in isolated places like Bhuj and Surendranagar districts of Kutch and Saurashtra.
We do not expect any changes in the prevailing weather conditions. The coming week would foresee dry and hot weather conditions. However, we can expect some relief by October 6. These rains can be attributed to a potential Depression that is likely to form over Southeast Arabian Sea around that time.
Due to this, Gujarat may experience light rain between October 8-11, but the spread would not be much, and rains would be confined to few districts only.
During this time, the sky will be cloudy or partly cloudy, leading to a fall in temperature by two to three degree Celsius. However, this relief would be short lived, which would again start rising soon.
People of Gujarat need to gear up for upcoming dry and sunny weather, especially the areas of Saurashtra and Kutch will invariably cross the mark of 40°C.
