State of Gujarat is the hottest of all. Bhuj in Kutch region recorded maximum temperature of 40.3 degree, about 10 degree above the normal. Rajkot in Saurashtra was close 2nd with 39.3 degree, about 9 degree above the average. This is the first 40 degree of the season and sets the ball rolling for others to catch up.

Many cities in Gujarat breached 38-degree mark, a little early in the season.  Ahmedabad (38.3), Amreli (38), Keshod (38.4), Surendranagar (38.6) and Deesa (38.7) joined the club of high 30's. These temperatures are about 7-9 degree above the normal, literally announcing heat wave kind of weather.
Many a times, Odisha on the easter side is favourite for this record along with interiors of South Peninsula. Above normal temperatures are being observed over most parts of central, western and northern parts of the country.

An active western disturbance is arriving tomorrow over the mountains of North India. Seasonal anticyclone over Rajasthan is already shifting, resulting change in the wind pattern. Above normal day temperatures in high 30's are likely over Saurashtra & Kutch and North & Central Gujarat over the next 4-5 days.
