Gujarat is away from the large variations in terms of weather as a direct impact during winters and is rather controlled by the wind pattern. Winds from the north after particularly a spell of rain and snow in the hills sweep the Gujarat region, the temperatures drop then. As the Western Disturbance again arrives, they tend to rise.
There is a disturbance is moving across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh region today and tomorrow and will most likely clear the region after this. Thus, the winds over Gujarat are also affected in turn. The system is weak in nature, it is already across the hilly regions, it has already started to show an impact over Gujarat. Winds from the land are blowing over the region, resulting in drop in temperatures.
Single digit temperatures expected in Disa, Patan, Bsantkantha, even going up to Palanpur, Mehsana. Kutch has already seen dropping temperatures with Naliya saw 4.6 degrees today, Kandla at 9.9 degrees, Bhuj 11 degrees.
Even Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad will also see minimums around 11-12 degrees, which were previously around 15-16 degrees Celsius resulting in a drop of 4-5 degrees. Interiors of Saurashtra including Rajkot, Surendranagar, Amreli, Junagad will also see a drop in minimums. Coatsline however, will remain around 15 degrees.
For the next 4-5 days, conditions will remain the same with temperatures remaining on the lower side.
