The state of Gujarat after witnessing massive deficiency of more than 70 percent saw heavy Monsoon rains coming their way. Moreover, flooding conditions were also witnessed over some parts of the state wreaking havoc and claiming several lives.

Three digit rains had become a common affair and the deficiency easily rolled over to the positive side, making Gujarat safe from the fear of drought conditions. However, rainfall activity has reduced to some extent but even then heavy showers were seen over some pockets of the state.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Valsad recorded 105 mm of rainfall, Vallabh Vidyanagar recorded 73 mm of rains, Rajkot 46 mm, Idar 54 mm, Deesa 32 mm, Ahmedabad 19 mm, Porbandar 11 mm, Mahuva 8 mm, and Bhavnagar 2 mm.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rainfall activity is expected to reduce from Gujarat and only light rains with isolated moderate showers are expected. The reason for reduced rains over the region can be attributed to the shift of the low pressure area northward.

Thus, the cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat is not getting enough support from any system along with which, the off shore is also extending from Karnataka to Kerala. Due to reduced rains, relief from flood is likely in the coming days.
