Monsoon rains have returned to the state of Gujarat. And in a span of 21 hours until 5:30 am today, Vadodara has recorded 28 mm rains. A similar condition is likely for the next two days, wherein more Monsoon showers would lash the city. However, rains would not be as severe as they were between August 4 and 10.
According to our meteorologists, active Monsoon would bring in more rains for the state of Gujarat including Vadodara for the next two days. Although extremely heavy rains are not expected, water-logging in some parts cannot be ruled out.
These rains would be a result of a Cyclonic Circulation which continues to persist over the Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Gujarat Coast. Moreover, the Low-Pressure Area has shifted to the western parts of Madhya Pradesh. The combined effect of these two systems would result in rains over Vadodara and many other parts of Gujarat for the next 48 hours.
By August 29, rains will taper over the region and weather would start clearing up from the entire state.
The period between August 4 and 10 was no less than a nightmare for Gujarat, wherein heavy rains had battered many parts of the state including Vadodara, leading to flood havoc. The normal life was thrown out of gear with crocodiles swimming in flooded streets and showing up in the human settlements. Although upcoming showers would not be that heavy, some areas might have to face water-logging, hence precautions must be taken.
