The state of Gujarat has started to heat up after enjoying some comfortable weather conditions. Moreover, maximums soared yesterday and some cities saw the highest maximums. In fact, the highest maximums of the season recorded yesterday were Ahmedabad at 43.5 degrees, Rajkot at 43.9 degrees and Surendrangar at 43.5 degrees.

The last heat spell was observed on April 17 wherein the maximum in Ahmedabad was at 41.9 degrees, Rajkot at 41.5 degrees and Surendranagar at 41.6 degrees.

Current maximums are 3 degrees above normal thus these parts do not qualify for heat wave conditions as for heatwave, maximums need to be either 5 degrees above normal or at 45 degrees and none of those criteria have been met.

In the coming days also, maximums are not likely to touch 45 degrees thus heat wave will remain away from the state. However, weather conditions will continue to remain hot.
