Since the last two days, the western state of Gujarat has not received any significant rains. Although isolated rains were witnessed over a few places. However, now we expect the rains to intensify once again as a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area is present over the eastern parts of Southeast Madhya Pradesh. This system is gradually set to move towards Gujarat.
According to weathermen at Skymet, the rain intensity is set to increase today onward over many parts of the state. Places like that of Bhavnagar, Valsad, Baroda, Ahmedabad etc might receive moderate to heavy showers in the next 48 hours.
However, we expect the rain intensity to decrease significantly by July 5. Scattered light to moderate rains might continue. Although any heavy showers are ruled out during that time.
Other parts of Gujarat particularly Kutch will get isolated light rains only. Southern coastal districts such as Junagarh, Veraval, Porbandar may also receive light rains.
These rains will be beneficial for the state of Gujarat as the rains are going to take down the rain deficiency of Gujarat region to a big extent. After this rain episode, we expect that both Gujarat, as well as Kutch region, might come under the normal category.
