In the past 24 hours most parts of the state witnessed light to moderate intensity rains. Baroda recoded 16 mm of rain, Valsad 14 mm, Bhavnagar 11 mm, Deesa 4.7 mm. Surat, Veraval, Bhuj, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar also recorded light rains. These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is persisting over Saurashtra and Kutch and adjoining South Pakistan.

Due to this, moderate south westerly winds from the Arabian Sea are blowing over most parts of Gujarat. Due to these combined weather systems, light to moderate rains occurred over Gujarat.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Vijay Rupani is currently visiting the flood affected district of Banaskantha and is likely to stay there for 5 days to keep a close eye on relief operations. As per Rupani, it is the worst flood situation in the century.
