In the absence of a weather system, day temperatures are expected to rise in most parts of North India during the next two days. According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, there would be minimal weather activities across the country on the 10th and 11th of April, other than the northeastern parts where rain may continue to occur at a few places during the period.
Therefore, day temperatures that are below normal in the northwest plains are expected to rise by 2-3 degrees in the next two days. A fresh Western Disturbance approaching Jammu & Kashmir would again bring moist winds to the region. It would reduce the dryness and pull down the temperatures. But there will not be any chances of rain in northwest plains over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh as the Western Disturbance would be tracking northward, something they haven't been doing till now.
Northwesterly dry winds also pulled down the day temperatures by a couple of notches in places like Lucknow and Kanpur in central Uttar Pradesh and Allahabad and Varanasi in east Uttar Pradesh. According to the latest weather update, maximums in these places would again show a rising trend as winds in the region would start warming up in the next two days.
In Central India, temperatures have dropped marginally on Tuesday due to cloud cover under the aegis of a wind discontinuity (mixture of dry northwesterly winds from North India and moist winds from the Bay of Bengal) that runs from Odisha to Kerala across Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Day temperatures will again rise in these areas in the next two days as this discontinuity is expected to shift east.
However, weather in South India especially in interiors like Telangana, Rayalaseema, north and south interior Karnataka will remain very hot with maximums hovering around 40°C during the next two days. Coastal areas on both the flanks of peninsular region will observe day temperatures settling in the range of 30 to 35°C. There would also be chances of pre-moosoon rain in coastal Kerala and Tamil Nadu during this period.
