Uttar Pradesh has been receiving on and off light Monsoon showers from the past few days. However, in the past day, northwest foothills and East Uttar Pradesh received good Monsoon showers. Remaining parts of the state also witnessed light rains.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, Meerut witnessed heavy rain of 60 mm, Muzaffarnagar 68.4 mm and Moradabad 57 mm of rain. In the same span of time, Aligarh witnessed moderate intensity rain of 21 mm, Bahraich 20 mm and Bareilly 29.2 mm of rain. Meanwhile, Gorakhpur recorded light rain of 1.9 mm, Banda 7.4 mm and Shahjahanpur 9 mm of rain.
As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough continues to pass along the foothills of Uttar Pradesh. The stations close to the foothills such as Moradabad, Bareilly, and Gorakhpur will continue receiving moderate intensity rains with one or two heavy spells. These Good showers are likely to continue over the area for the next 48 hours.

These areas may also witness floods due to hefty showers. Few parts of central Uttar Pradesh will also witness scattered light to moderate rains. The state capital Lucknow may also record light to moderate rainy spells. Meanwhile, Varanasi and Allahabad will only witness scattered light rains. At present, weather conditions are pleasant and temperatures are normal or below normal at most of the places.
