The state of Uttar Pradesh has been receiving continuous light to moderate rains since many days. During last 24 hours also, many parts of the state have received moderate rains, while, one or two places in North West Uttar Pradesh witnessed heavy rainfall also.

As per Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the axis of Monsoon trough which is running along the northern parts of Uttar Pradesh across Bareilly and Gorakhpur. It is anticipated that moderate showers with one or two heavy spells over West Uttar Pradesh and foothills of East Uttar Pradesh are likely now.
In the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh received heavy rain of 83.6 mm. While light to moderate spells was seen over Hardoi which witnessed 21 mm of rain, Lucknow 13.2 mm, Bahraich 9 mm, Fursatganj 8.8 mm. Gorakhpur, Banda, Bareilly also recorded very light rains.

Places including Moradabad, Bareilly, Pllibhit, Bahraich, Gorakhpur, and Lucknow may witness moderate showers with one or two heavy showers at a few places. Southern Districts of the states including Jhansi, Banda, Allahabad, and Varanasi will have almost dry weather conditions with isolated light rain activities.
We expect that the rain deficiency of East and West Uttar Pradesh to reduce significantly.
