Good weather contributes to historic voter turnout in Delhi Assembly Elections 2015

February 7, 2015 7:00 PM |

The wait is finally over! Delhiites stepped out of their homes to decide the fate of the national capital amidst comfortable weather conditions on Saturday.

Today, Delhi decided whether it will be Arvind Kejriwal from AAP or former IPS officer Kiran Bedi ruling in the capital. Going by media reports, till 5 pm over 63% of the voters got inked and sealed Delhi's future. The turnout improved after 12 noon and a bright sunny day definitely contributed to a better turnout.

The Western Disturbance moving across Jammu and Kashmir might give one or two odd spells of very light rain in Delhi tomorrow. People planning their trip to the 29th SurajKund International Crafts Mela in Faridabad are advised to carry umbrellas to save themselves from the rain. However, rain will be very light and may not dampen the festive spirit. Punjab and Haryana could also receive some rain.

Minimums are likely to rise across North India tomorrow, after the spell of rain. Day temperatures could drop marginally.  Day and night temperatures in Delhi will settle around 24°C and 10°C, respectively on Sunday.

The fresh Western Disturbance and an induced cyclonic circulation in south Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh will give light rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and parts of east Uttar Pradesh by February 8.
