Parts of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing scattered light to moderate rainfall for the last many days but widespread good Monsoon showers are still eluding these areas. However, the good news is that the wait for fairly widespread heavy rains is finally over.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Bhagalpur and Kolkata. This will give very good rains over East India including Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation presently over Bay of Bengal will also move inland and will further influence the Monsoon current.

In wake of this, maximum temperatures are expected to come down and prevailing sultry weather will pave way for pleasant weather conditions.

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, the rainy spell is expected to continue till July 8, with intense activity along the foothills. Thereafter, intensity of rain will reduce as trough will shift southwards, covering parts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

However, scattered light rain will continue over the region, which will not let the temperatures to rise suddenly.
