The performance of Monsoon rains during the month of June remain power packed for the West Coast of the country. Both Konkan and Goa as well as Coastal Karnataka witnessed heavy showers during the last few days of June.
However, it was the state of Kerala which could only receive light to moderate showers. The Konkan region in particular received very heavy rains with three digit monsoon rains lashing the region is well.

However, during the last 24 to 48 hours, Monsoon showers have taken a slight backseat over these areas. While moderate rains with isolated heavy showers continue over the West Coast, there has been a decline in those heavy monsoon showers.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Mahabaleshwar recorded 55 mm of rain, Mangalore 28 mm, Kannur 26 mm, Vengurla 23 mm, Bhira 20 mm, Honavar 23 mm, Kozhikode 16 mm and Kochi 19 mm.

The reason for the reduction in rainfall activity over the West Coast is due to the weakening of the offshore trough running from Coastal Maharashtra up to the Kerala region.
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers will continue over both Konkan and Goa as well as Coastal Karnataka.
However, rains are expected to reduce over Kerala and only light rainfall with isolated moderate showers are expected over the region during the next 24 hours.
