The month of October has brought some good news for both the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. So much so that on and off rains continue to bring relief in the form of pleasant weather conditions. The last 24 hours have been no different and good rains have lashed the region.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, good rains were witnessed over Bilaspur at 24 mm, Ambikapur 23 mm, Bhopal 24 mm, Hoshangabad 8 mm, Indore 5 mm and Satna 1 mm.
At present, a cyclonic circulation in the higher levels is over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Coastal West Bengal as well as Odisha. Due to this weather system, moisture incursion has increased in the central parts of the country resulting in rains over both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Now, during the next 24 hours both these states of Central India are expected to witness more rains of light to moderate intensity. The possibility of isolated heavy spells also cannot be ruled out.
At present, the state of Madhya Pradesh in the first seven days of October is witnessing a rainfall surplus of 85 percent. Chhattisgarh is also observing surplus rainfall figures at 29 percent. These figures will only increase as more showers are expected over both these states.
