Heavy rains in Hyderabad have become like a distant dream for quite some time now. In fact, the last time the city received such heavy rains was on June 6 when the Biryani City recorded a whopping 87 mm of rainfall.
Since then, Hyderabad has been receiving on and off light to moderate rains but those heavy Monsoon showers have been off the radar for far too long now.
During the last week, the city only witnessed light rains or even traces of rain.
The last 24 hours were no different and the city did record traces of rainfall. However, these traces were also patchy in nature and most parts of the city did remain dry.
The reason for such weather conditions in Hyderabad can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system in proximity to Hyderabad and its adjoining areas of Telangana.

The bad news here is that these weather conditions will remain the same and no weather system is expected to develop and bring good showers to the city of Nizams.

However, the possibility of light rainfall activity due to localized weather conditions cannot be ruled out in Hyderabad.
As far as the rain statistics are concerned, July happens to be one of the rainiest months for Hyderabad when the city witnesses 179.2 mm of rains on an average. With the persisting weather conditions, the possibility of the city surpassing these figures does not look too bright.
However, it is too early to say as a couple of heavy spells will easily help Hyderabad reach its target.
