The west coastal area of the country has been receiving good rainfall activity since the last week of May. Initially the rainfall was fairly widespread and only confined over Kerala & coastal Karnataka that was during May end.
As the month of June started the intensity of rainfall has decreased over South Kerala, but good rainfall continued over North Kerala and parts of interior Karnataka.
Now a cyclonic circulation has developed over coastal Karnataka. This weather system is giving good moderate to heavy rainfall over coastal Karnataka, Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra and interior parts of Karnataka.
This weather system will move further north along the coast and simultaneously as trough is also expected to form over Kerala coast leading to renewal of rain activity over entire Kerala.
From June 7 the entire west coast right from coastal Maharashtra, Konkan-Goa, Karnataka and Kerala will start receiving very good rainfall.
The rain has increased over South Madhya Maharashtra in the last 24 hour we expect that entire Madhya Maharashtra will start receiving rainfall will see increased in intensity. And by June 10 and 11, some areas of Gujarat coast will also get rain and thundershower activity.
In that way we can say that the entire west coast is gearing up for fairly widespread rainfall activities.
