The northeastern states of India have been witnessing good rains since the past couple of days. So much so, that rains of varied intensity have been occurring in many parts of the state. Likewise, the last 24 hours were also similar with some parts of Northeast India recording three digits of rains.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a well-marked low pressure which is lying over Meghalaya and adjoining areas of South Assam. Further, this weather system is likely to move north-northeastwards and then is expected to weaken during the next 24 hours.

Due to the effect of the above-mentioned system, light to moderate rain with a few spells of heavy showers are expected to lash many parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Upper Assam area during the next 24 hours.

Districts such as Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, Kailashahar, Golaghat, Cherrapunji, Shillong, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Shillong, Imphal and Tinsukia will witness good rains during the similar time frame.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the intensity of these good rains is anticipated to reduce significantly. During this time, the weather conditions are also expected to improve gradually.
