These weather conditions can be attributed to an upper air trough which is seen extending from the east-central Arabian Sea up to southwest Bay of Bengal.
Due to this weather system, moderate to heavy rain and thundershower activities are likely to continue over Kerala during the next two days.
Thereafter, the intensity of these rains is expected to reduce marginally over northern parts of Kerala but southern districts of Kerala will witness a further increase in the rainfall activities.
Northern districts such as Kannur, Kozhikode, Kasaragod, and Wayanad will witness a diminishing trend in the rainfall activities after 48 hours. While Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta will receive more rains after two days.
