The state of Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing good rains for the past few days. So much so that these rains were intense in nature during the last 24 hours many areas recording moderate to heavy showers as well.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Kakinada recorded 58 mm of rain, Visakhapatnam 46 mm, Ongole 43 mm, Rentachintala 39 mm, Kavali 29 mm, Tuni 27 mm, Bapatla 26 mm, Bhadrachalan 21 mm, and Machilipatnam 15 mm.

Now, moderate rains are likely to continue over many parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as some areas of Rayalaseema for the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the rainfall intensity is expected to decrease as the trough which is passing through Rayalaseema up to North Andaman Sea will become insignificant.

Another trough will develop from Chhattisgarh to Maharashtra due to this, rain belt will shift towards North and intensity will reduce gradually over the region.
However, weather will not go completely dry over the state and a few light spells of rains will continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rayalaseema will only witness only isolated light rainfall activities during this time. Temperatures may also witness a rise over Rayalaseema. Places like Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadappa will see rising maximums.
