The state of Rajasthan has been witnessing light to moderate showers on several occasions. So much so that many parts have also witnessed a few heavy spells of rainfall in the last few days. In fact, there have been times when the region has also recorded rains above the 50 mm mark.

The last 24 hours were no different wherein a few parts of Rajasthan did receive heavy rains while light to moderate showers were recorded in parts. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ajmer recorded a whopping 57 mm of rain while Jaisalmer witnessed 37 mm of rainfall.
Other areas to have received some rains include Sawai Madhopur 24 mm, Churu 17 mm, Bikaner 16 mm, Sikar 12 mm, and Jaipur 12 mm.

These Monsoon showers have been attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation which is currently persisting over Kutch and adjoining Southwest Rajasthan region.
Along with this, a trough is also running from Northwest Rajasthan region. Thus, the combined effect of these systems has resulted in good rains over many parts of Rajasthan.
Now, during the next 24 hours, good showers are expected to occur over the cities of Udaipur, Kota, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar and Bundi as moisture incursion will be more over these areas. Meanwhile. Jaipur will only have to settle with light rainfall only.
