The state of Gujarat did not see rainfall for a very long time. However, the recent Low Pressure Area that moved up to Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Gujarat as a Circulation has been good for the state and rainfall has been recorded in the last two days and that too some good showers have been seen.
The seasonal deficiency for Gujarat region has become from -17 to -6 percent. Saurashtra kutch were already plus, courtesy the previous rains, it has been maintaining a surplus.
As of today, the circulation is on the edge of Saurashtra and Kutch and ajdoining South Rajasthan. Thus, today, heavy rains over most parts of Kutch.
Gradually, the situation will ease out but moderate showers will still continue tomorrow as well. For the next two days, only Kutch and adjoining Saurashtra will see rains and rains will vacate north, central and south Gujarat.
With this, the deficiency is already reduced, and is likely to marginally drop further.
