Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand have been receiving light to moderate intensity rains from the past few days. As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Jharkhand which is slowly moving in the west north west direction. Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is also running across the foothills of Himalayas.

Due to these combined weather systems, in the past 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, heavy intensity rain of 184. 6 mm was recorded in Dumka district of Jharkhand. In the same span of time, Deogarh recorded 89 mm and Ranchi 40 mm of rain. While, Bokaro witnessed light rain of 14 mm, Daltonganj 16.2 mm, and Jamshedpur witnessed 8.8 mm of rain.
It is anticipated that moderate rain at many places and heavy rain at a few will continue over Jharkhand for the next 24 to 36 hours. Cities such as Ranchi, Dumka are likely to receive heavy intensity of rains. Thereafter rain intensity will reduce over the state.

In Chhattisgarh also, Ambikapur witnessed moderate intensity rain of 24.4 mm. While, cities such as Jagdalpur, Bilaspur and Pendra received very light intensity Monsoon rains. Due to the weather systems prevailing above the region, moderate intensity rains will continue for the next three to four days over Ambikapur, Korba and Bilaspur. The maximum temperatures will also reduce over both the states.
