Good rains to continue over Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Odisha

After battling with severe heatwave type conditions, Odisha has finally started to witness some good Monsoon showers. The weather conditions along the Odisha Coast also seems favorable for the residents of the state.

Few spells of moderate Monsoon showers are expected to occur over Odisha during the next 24 to 48 hours. Mostly the sky is likely to remain cloudy over Odisha including Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Chandbali, Gopalpur, Koraput, and Angul.  As of now, the Northern Limit of Monsoon has covered most parts of Odisha.

As per Skymet Weather, an upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to prevail over the region. A trough is also seen running along the Odisha Coast. With this, few moderate spells are expected to occur in Odisha. Thereafter, the Monsoon showers may reduce marginally over the area.

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Sambalpur recorded 52.2 mm of rainfall, Cuttack 31 mm, Chandbali 26 mm, Bhubaneshwar 24 mm, Puri 23.4 mm, Angul 17.6 mm, Gopalpur 11 mm, Koraput 10.8 mm, Paradip 3.5 mm and Balasore 1 mm.

However, the intensity of rainfall may increase over this region during the next 24 hours. While scattered rainfall and thundershower activities are expected to continue along the Odisha coast.  Therefore, the temperatures may fall marginally by 2-4 degrees over the interior parts of Odisha.
