During the last 24 hours, several districts of Jharkhand had recorded good rains. Alongside, one or two places over South Chhattisgarh have also managed to observe light to moderate showers. However, now, the rain intensity over Jharkhand is likely to reduce and dry weather condition is expected to prevail over the state although isolated light rains cannot be ruled out as well.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Jamshedpur recorded moderate rainfall of 69 mm, Jagdalpur 40 mm and Ranchi 1 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is seen over the west-central Bay of Bengal. Further, this weather system is likely to move in a northwest direction.

Due to its northwest movement, light to moderate rain and thundershower activities are likely to continue at several places over South Chhattisgarh for the next 24 hours. Whereas, a few parts of Jharkhand will continue to witness almost dry weather conditions. However, remaining parts of Jharkhand will witness scattered light showers.

After 24 to 48 hours, the intensity of these rains is expected to increase further over South Chhattisgarh as well as over Jharkhand. Thereafter, moderate intensity of rains is anticipated to occur at many places over these two states.
