These rains can be attributed to the trough which was extending from the depression over Bangladesh up to North Bay of Bengal.
Now, a fresh Cyclonic Circulation is likely to form over Southwest bay of Bengal in the lower levels during next 24 hours. Due to this system, moderate rains are expected to continue over Andaman and Nicobar islands. Since this system will be a slow moving one, these rains will continue over the region for next 2-3 days at least.
