Rainfall activities have increased in the parts of Maharashtra during the last two to three days.
Moderate to heavy rains have lashed many parts of Vidarbha, wherein Nagpur has recorded 23 mm of rainfall, followed by Wardha 48 mm, Yavatmal 31 mm, Akola 11 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday.
Similarly, good rains have been recorded in parts of Marathwada, wherein Parbhani has received 11 mm of rains, followed by Nanded 10 mm and Aurangabad 3 mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, Jalgaon has received moderate rains of 16 mm, Malegaon 1 mm, Nashik 18 mm, Pune 32 mm, Satara 14 mm, Kolhapur 16 mm and Mahabaleshwar has recorded heavy rains to the tune of 99 mm during the same span.
Moderate rains with a few heavy spells have lashed Vidarbha and parts of Konkan and Goa. While light to moderate rains have been recorded in parts of Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra.
Now, we expect, good rains to continue in parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada today. Both the region will also see an improvement in their rainfall statistics.
Meanwhile, moderate showers with one or two heavy spells will continue in Konkan and Goa, whereas Madhya Maharashtra will receive light to moderate rains. These activities will continue for the next two to three days. The surplus of both the region will also improve.
Mumbai rains have reduced in the last 24 hours and today we expect light to moderate rains with one or two intense spells over the city and suburbs. A spike in rainfall activities is expected on July 29. The increased Monsoon rains will lead to flight diversions, waterlogging in many parts of the city, delayed and suspended local trains in areas and massive traffic jams.
The intensity of rain will further increase on July 31 and August 1 over the entire state of Maharashtra. Thus, we can say that the coming week will be good in terms of rainfall activities for the state.
