The hill states of North India have been observing good rains from last many days. From light showers to moderate and heavy spells, Himachal Pradesh has seen a varied intensity of rains. In the last 24 hours also, few districts of Himachal Pradesh recorded rains varying from light to moderate with isolated heavy showers as well.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Una recorded heavy rains of 65.8 mm, Mandi 9 mm, Shimla 7 mm, Solan 5 mm, Dharamsala witnessed 4 mm of rains.

The reason for these rains as per Skymet Weather can be attributed to the Western Disturbance which is over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Moreover, a trough is also seen extending from North Punjab to East India along the foothills.

In the wake of these two weather systems, moderate to heavy rains over Himachal Pradesh, mainly over the southern districts of the state is expected in the next 24 hours. Hence, these moderate to heavy spells is likely to lash districts such as Bilaspur, Shimla, Manali, Solan, and Kangra.
Thereafter, this trough will shift towards the south and the intensity of rains over Himachal Pradesh is expected to reduce. However, scattered rains will still continue.
