Since last many days, several districts of Maharashtra have been reeling under dry and warm weather conditions. But during the last 24 hours, scattered moderate rain and thundershower were observed in some parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. Whereas isolated rainfall activities occurred over South Madhya Maharashtra.

So, in a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, a few places managed to record moderate to light spells of rain, such as Chandrapur recorded moderate rainfall of 15 mm, followed by Amaravati 14 mm, Wardha 10 mm, Yeotmal 6 mm, Solapur 2 mm and Nagpur 1 mm. However, now the rains are likely to pick up pace over most parts of the state.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen persisting over South Telangana and adjoining area. Another cyclonic circulation can be marked over North Kerala and adjoining regions. A third cyclonic circulation is seen lying over east central Bay of Bengal which is likely to intensify into a Low-Pressure Area.

Further, these weather systems are expected to move towards North Bay of Bengal. Also, a trough is seen extending from these three systems.

Due to the effect of these prevailing weather systems over the state, the rainfall activity is likely to increase in many parts of Maharashtra during the next two days. Likewise, several places in Marathwada, Vidarbha and South Madhya Maharashtra will witness moderate spells with one or two heavy showers during the similar time period.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, North Konkan may continue to witness light rain and thundershower activities but after 24 hours, it is anticipated that these light rains will pace up particularly over the state capital, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, places such as Pune, Parbhani, Akola, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Hingoli, Osmanabad, Satara and Ahmednagar will witness good rains for the next two days.

In the meantime, the maximums are expected to remain around 30-32 degree Celsius. Whereas, the minimum temperatures will be settling between 21 and 24 degree Celsius. With this, pleasant weather conditions are likely to prevail over North Konkan and most parts of North Maharashtra.
