The northern districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh have been receiving good rains, while the weather of Telangana remained dry in the last many days. Only sporadic light rains were witnessed over isolated parts of the state.

However, during the last 24 hours, few moderate spells were observed over some of the districts of Telangana. In the interim, coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh continued to receive light to moderate rains.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Nizamabad recorded rains to the tune of 17 mm, followed by Machilipatnam 14 mm, Kakinada 10 mm, Ongole 10 mm, Vijayawada 6 mm, Visakhapatnam 2 mm, Hanamkonda 2 mm and Hyderabad 1 mm of light showers.
As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is at mid-level over Southeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha and a trough is extending up to Telangana. In wake of this, we can expect moderate showers to continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next 24 to 48 hours.

Afterward, the intensity of these rains will again decrease but then these rainy spells will give that long awaited relief to the people of Telangana, wherein dry and humid weather had prevailed leading to uneasiness conditions.
As on August 7, the state of Telangana is rain deficient by 15 percent, while sub division of Coastal Andhra Pradesh is rain surplus by 12 percent.
