Good rains to appear in West Rajasthan shortly

July 11, 2016 3:30 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Most regions of Western Rajasthan are still waiting for the onset of Monsoon. As on July 10, West Rajasthan is witnessing 3 percent lesser rains than its normal.

On the contrary, East Rajasthan has observed on and off good showers. Particularly, the southeastern part of the state is 29 percent rain surplus.

A cyclonic circulation has developed over West Madhya Pradesh and is expected to move towards Rajasthan. This circulation is more likely to give fairly widespread rains over the eastern areas of Rajasthan. However, this circulation is expected to weaken gradually, therefore intensity of rain over Rajasthan will not be as heavy as it was over West Madhya Pradesh.

Rainfall recorded in parts of Rajasthan during last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday is detailed in the table below:

Within next 24 to 48 hours, most part of Rajasthan including West Rajasthan is also likely to receive scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers.

As per Skymet Weather, it can be predicted that Monsoon is almost on the verge of making its arrival over the remaining parts of West Rajasthan in next 48 hours. Thereafter, on and off scattered rain is expected to continue over entire state for next 3 to 4 days. This will in turn further improve the rains and eastern part of the state will become more surplus while West Rajasthan which is at present witnessing lesser rains than its normal will also experience a rain surplus.
