Dry weather has been prevalent in parts of Rajasthan from last many days. While districts such as Bikaner and Churu had witnessed light rains on August 15, stations such as Jaisalmer and Phalodi have not seen rains since the month of August began.
Moreover, the desert state has mainly remained parched in the last 24 hours as well. However, this dry spells is now anticipated to take a brief break as some on and off rains are expected to pave the way towards Rajasthan. Mainly the districts in the southern region of the state such as Udaipur, Chittorgarh, and Kota may receive few good spells around August 20.
The reason for these rains will be the cyclonic circulation that is over Odisha which may gradually develop into a Low-Pressure Area. This weather system will gradually shift towards the west, thus resulting in good rains over parts of South Rajasthan.

Moreover, as the western end of the axis of Monsoon trough will also shift southwards, therefore, remaining parts of East and Central Rajasthan will also start witnessing light rains at a few places after 48 hours. Thus the districts such as Ajmer, Alwar, Jaipur Jhunjhunu, and Sikar may witness light rains after 48 hours.
Though these rains will be patchy and light in nature that will not cover very large areas. Moreover, these rains are not expected do many wonders in the already mounting mercury levels as well.
