Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are being affected by two different weather systems. A low pressure area lying over West Madhya Pradesh and East parts of Rajasthan has been giving good rains over western region of Madhya Pradesh.
Chhattisgarh is receiving scattered light to moderate rain thundershowers due to a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal.
However, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh and southern region of Chhattisgarh are only witnessing scattered light rains.
In a span of 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Monday, rains occurred over most parts of these two states are displayed in the table below:
Moderate to heavy showers are likely to continue over West Madhya Pradesh for another 48 hours. Chhattisgarh which is receiving light to moderate showers may witness a few heavy spells as well.
Due to likelihood of the movement of cyclonic circulation in northwest direction, weather system will intensify further. Moreover, it is worth watching if this weather system induces into a low pressure area or not. But, rain intensity is still likely to increase. During next 2-3 days, good rains are predicted over both the states.
