The weather condition can be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area that has moved slightly towards northwest. Presently, this system is over west central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas and is anticipated to continue its track in northwest direction and may strengthen into a depression before making landfall over Odisha Coast in the next 24 hours.
In wake of this, thick cloud cover is likely over the state that will result in some good spells of rain and thundershowers by today evening. In addition to this, squally winds are also expected to affect the region during the next 24 hours.
