Good rains on card for Bengaluru, South Coastal Karnataka

Light rains in Bengaluru kept the city’s weather pleasant almost throughout the day yesterday. In fact, the city has been witnessing rains of light intensity from almost last 2-3 days. The temperatures have also tumbled to settle near the 25-degree Celsius mark in most parts of the city.

In the last 24 hours also, the Garden City, Bengaluru recorded light traces to the tune of 1.5 mm. On the other hand, the other parts of Karnataka witnessed light to moderate rains. In contrast with the interior regions, the intensity of showers was on a higher side over the coastal districts of the state.

Within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Monday, Mangaluru recorded 41 mm of rains, Madikeri 34.4 mm, Hassan 19.2 mm, Chitradurga 8.5 mm and Mysuru witnessed 4.5 mm of light spells.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough of low is extending from the southwest Arabian Sea to the east-central Arabian Sea up to Maharashtra coast. In the wake of this weather system, few good spells of rains are likely to occur over the most parts of Karnataka for the next 24 hours.

Though the stations lying along the southern coastal districts and South Interior region of the state are most likely to witness these showers. Bengaluru is also expected to get some light rains for the next 24 hours.

Thereafter, the rainfall activity over South Interior Karnataka is anticipated to reduce however scattered light rains will continue to occur. South coastal Karnataka, on the other hand, will see light spells for another 2 days. Thereafter, the weather will become dry for almost the entire state including Bengaluru but the weather of the IT Hub will continue to remian cool and comfotable.
