The South Indian states have been seeing some rainfall activity for the past few days. The last 24 hours also saw light to moderate rains occurring over some parts of Tamil Nadu along with coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Machilipatnam saw a good 39 mm of rains, Salem recorded 17 mm of rains, Madurai witnessed 6 mm of rainfall and Palakkad 1 mm.
Currently, a cyclonic circulation is over East Central Arabian Sea. Moreover, a trough is also extending from this system across Tamil Nadu.
Due to both these systems, scattered moderate rains are expected over many parts of Kerala, South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and adjoining Rayalaseema. Other parts of South India are likely to witness light rainfall activity.
Talking about the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai is expected to witness light rains today with rainfall expected to increase by tomorrow and moderate showers may be seen over the city. Meanwhile, the IT Hub of India, Bengaluru is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall activity.
On the other hand, Hyderabad will only see light rains in the next 24 hours. Other parts of Telangana will also see light rainfall only.
