Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells occurred over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur. Sikkim also received good amount of rain.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Silchar recorded 28.0 mm of rain, followed by Imphal 18.0 mm, Haflong 13.0 mm, Jorhat 4.0 mm, Kohima 2.0 mm, Golaghat 6.0 mm, North Lakhimpur 2.0 mm along with this, traces of rain were seen over Tezpur and Guwahati.

The two main factors responsible for these rains are the cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Bangladesh and the remnants of the Western Disturbance.

Now, we expect the cyclonic circulation to persist and back to back Western Disturbances will move along the foothills towards Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Thereafter, we expect good rains to continue over the Northeastern states for the next 3 to 4 days. The intensity of rains will be much more over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated parts of Meghalaya may also receive good showers.

Meanwhile, rains of lesser intensity are expected to prevail over Tripura and Mizoram. These rains are expected to continue till March 18. Thereafter, weather will once again become dry after that, but isolated places of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh may still continue to receive rains.
